Walburga was most especially displeased at Sirius leaving the family. True he was a Gryffindor, but he was also a Black, true he was a blood-traitor but he was a pureblood. Still, she thought, it wouldn’t do to have him let off unscathed. So she took down her warmth charmed winter robe and walked the park where she knew her son liked to play with his Gyrffindor blood traitor friends and brought the family dogs, Doberman-crup crosses Cardinal and Carnifex.
Yet when she quietly told the dogs to attack her disowned son they did not. She did of course not know that Sirius loved being Padfoot at home, often at night or when his parents were at some pureblood gathering with Regulus. So the dogs knew Padfoot, he was their best friend and even when he wore a human skin they knew him well and would not attack.
Eventually Walburga trudged home her perfect winter robe soaked after being hit with a barrage of snowballs from some group of children. She was very displeased.
